Switzerland (b. Brazil) – Postdoctoral Fellow in History, Université de Genève

Research area: Max Weber and the labor movement, Weber and Marx, Weber’s contribution to political and social theory, the ‘young’ Max Weber, the dialog of Max and Marianne Weber, Weber’s global reception.

‘I have had an interest in Weber since my BA years and wrote my Ph.D. on his relationship to the labor movement in Imperial Germany. I helped create the network because I am convinced that given the revolution in the available sources and the greater connectivity within scholarship worldwide, it can spur a new chapter in Weber’s global reception. I believe that a critical and open engagement with Weber’s work is key to approaching the multiple crises of the present. A hundred years after his death, Weber is in many ways our contemporary.’
