A “speed presentation” of doctoral and bachelor’s theses on central topics of Max Weber
JOIN US on the 17th of JULY at 6pm CET!! The presentation of new research work has already become a tradition in the Weber Scholars Network. Young academics present their theses and seniors comment on them. Three theses will be presented at the next meeting.
– Dianqing Pei (University of Erfurt) presents parts of his doctoral thesis: “Sociology as a Science of Reality: An Introduction to Social Scientific Methodology according to Max Weber”. Erik Jansson Boström (University of Uppsala) will respond.
– Hannah Skoupi (University of Bielefeld) presents her bachelor’s thesis on the topic: “Epistemes of the Nation: A History of Knowledge Analysis of Max Weber’s Ambivalent Concept of the Nation – Inspired by Benedict Anderson”. Professor Joaquín Abellán García (Complutense University of Madrid) will respond.
– Salih Şimşek (Technical University of Darmstadt) presents the first two main chapters of his bachelor’s thesis on “Max Weber’s Sociology of War”. Professor Hinnerk Bruhns (Paris) will comment. This presentation will be held in German. A thesis paper in English is available.
