Research area: Postcolonial critique on Max Weber.
‘I think that Max Weber’s scientific work has such a tremendous relevance today because he raised big and till now unsolved sociological questions. Think of: how do ethics and the economy of a given society interrelate? And he was such a careful thinker, developing at the same time a methodological fundament in order to approach these questions, one of the most important fundaments of an emerging science, sociology! However, like any other scholar, Weber had his blind spots and it’s highly interesting to reflect on misunderstood or overlooked issues, e.g. colonialism, by confronting Weber’s work with contemporary schools of thought such as postcolonialism With regards to Weber’s blind spot «feminist issues» it is most interesting to read the scientific contributions of Marianne Weber, Weber’s interlocutor, companion, and wife.’
